Emotography: images you feel before you explain them
I'm Paul. I make photographs of places and moments worth spending time with. Sometimes that means returning to a cliff in Lanzarote for years, waiting for the clouds. Sometimes it means searching the Shropshire Hills for just the right field of hay bales.
LuPa Images brings those photographs together with the stories behind them. Explore the images, read how they came to be, and follow the books I'm making about Lanzarote and medium-format photography.

The books I'm making
A photographer's guide to Lanzarote, and why your last camera should be medium format. Image galleries are still being laid out.

That view, five years in the making
I came upon Las Nieves by accident and wondered what the cliffs would look like with clouds below them. I kept coming back. Nearly five years later, the weather finally gave me the scene I'd been waiting for.
Looking is part of the work
I care about photographs that hold their feeling after the moment has passed. A camera's technical quality matters when it helps keep that feeling intact, but patience and attention come first. This is what connects the images, the blog and the two books.
